Mosaic Wall Art- Small Framed Butterfly

Mosaic Wall Art- Small Framed Butterfly named "Flutterby" by Mel Fischer.

The butterfly is a gold-tone metal and mother of pearl pendant that I took off an old necklace. I also upcycled an old small frame by hand painting a light coat of gold metallic paint so the pretty wood grain can show through. I then sealed the back shut and created the mosaic directly on the glass on the front. Directional and opposing tiling/grout lines give the illusion of the butterfly swirling up into the air.

As this is made with an upcycled wood frame, there are very small dents and dings on it, which add to it's charm. To protect the mosaic, do not attempt to open the back, even though I have sealed it shut.

The piece measures approximately 4 1/4" x 3 1/4" at the widest parts of the frame.
