Mosaic Brooch Pendant, Leaf of Faith 1,Quête de l'Or, , First edition mosaic handcrafted brooch by Mel Fischer, "Going for Gold"
The "Leaf of Faith #1", Quête de l'Or,". is part of a series, all are one of a kind (OOAK). This item is the premier of the first, hand signed by me on the back.
"Quête de l'or" means "the quest for gold".
We each strive to be better in some way, and with this leaf, it aspires to reach for the gold. The "Leaf of Faith" series is intended to be inspirational, a simple "I love you", "Go for your dreams", "We can make things work", etc. It can represent anything from job success, college, religious, relationship, friendship...what you percieve is what makes it happen. All you need is to believe, and show it. I believe in you!
"Leaf of Faith #1" is a handcrafted mosaic piece that features copper/gold tone metallic veins as the core. This represents the inner core of ones self, and the attempt to reach out and become golden in all other aspects. In this particular one, the copper/gold tiles that create the veins represent the inner faith and core, the green, the new beginnings.
This piece is done on a mahogany wood base, hand crafted mosaics by me with nano tiles of copper, sage greens, hunter greens and a custom tinted grout for background.
It measures 2 3/4" from the top of the stem to the bottom of the leaf point and is approximately 2" at the widest part.
I wish to especially thank my fans and friends on FaceBook who give me inspiration and ideas for the naming of pieces and more. Although this name does not seem like it directly relates to any of the suggestions, it actually does, in its own way, so thank you again, for all of your input!
This piece can easily be converted to a pendant, if you prefer that, by looping chain around the finding on the back.
